Kody Wolfe

 

Prior to joining the Cliffel Lab at Vanderbilt University, Kody earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University in Athens, OH. Kody’s academic interests revolve around the future of global energy sources and storage. His current research projects are focused on the implementation of Photosystem I, a plant protein capable of converting solar energy into chemical energy, within biohybrid solar cells. As a Materials Science & Engineering graduate student, Kody’s expertise is in materials choice for electron transfer with PSI, characterization of electrode materials, and engineering aspects of biohybrid device fabrication. Kody is also actively working on a project with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) with the goal of immobilizing enzymes onto electrodes and studying electron transfer between the electrode and enzyme active sites. Outside of the lab, Kody enjoys running, scuba diving, and listening to Jimmy Buffett.
