Congratulations, goodbye, and good luck, Zac!

Grad student Zac Elmore defended his thesis entitled "Stay on target: The kinase domain of CK1 enzymes contains the localization information essential for Dma1-mediated mitotic checkpoint signaling" on February 23, 2018.

This week we said good bye to Zac as he departed for North Carolina where he will continue his training in the lab of Dr. Aravind Asokan. As a postdoc, Zac will work on developing adeno-associated viruses for gene therapy applications.

Gould lab members knew of Zac's interest in synthetic biology based on the papers he'd present at journal club. He also participated in a short module offered by Vanderbilt's BRET office where he worked with a small, Nashville biotech company to propose their product to potential investors. Of course we'll miss Zac, but we wish Zac the best of luck in his new lab!
