Celebrating 100 Years of Suffrage for Women

This year we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote.

The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was passed in 1919 and ratified in August of 1920. It states, “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.”
