Tyra Avery to Attend Fisk-Vanderbilt Master’s-to-PhD Bridge Program
Tyra Avery will be attending Fisk University beginning August 2019 where she will be a first-year graduate student in the Fisk-Vanderbilt Master’s-to-PhD Bridge Program. At Fisk, Tyra will join the Damo Laboratory studying Acinetobacter baumannii, a highly resistant gram negative bacteria. Tyra joined the Vanderbilt University Department of Chemistry RASR Laboratory team in December 2018 as a post-baccalaureate scholar where she conducted research on a collaborative project investigating the variants of ABCA7 in Alzheimer’s disease in African Americans.
