Kathryn (Katie) Kapp was awarded a $500 Travel Award for winning the First-Year Chemistry Graduate Student Three-Minute Thesis Competition (3MT). Katie’s research project centered on using mass spectrometry to study proteomic changes in sepsis. The competition is part of her CHEM 6900 Professional Development class taught by Dr. David Cliffel and Dr. Michael Stone. The 3MT challenges graduate students to summarize their research projects within three minutes in an engaging format that can also be understood by the general public.
