Dr. Robinson had the opportunity to hear from and meet the keynote speaker of the African American Student Retention Symposium, Dr. Alfred Moyè, on September 25, 2015.  Dr. Moyè is a Pitt alum, having obtained his Master’s degree in Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, former professor in the Department of Chemistry, and is a current Pitt emeritus trustee. Dr. Robinson participated on the faculty panel during the symposium, and shared that faculty members have to be engaged and “in the know” in order to fully support, inform, encourage, and help to retain African American students across campus.
