Exosome Analysis for Biomarker Discovery

The Schey lab has begun a collaboration with Dr. David Hachey (Pharmacology)  and Dr. Matt Luther (Clinical Pharmacology) to examine the proteome and transcriptome of small lipid microvesicles (exosomes) secreted from cells and found in multiple body fluids. The driving hypothesis is that the exosomes contain signatures of disease that can be deciphered by proteomics and transcriptomics technologies.
