Harpeth Hall

Since 2012, graduate students in the MEDLAB have taught an annual 3-week STEM course for the Winterim session at Harpeth Hall High School.  The course offers students the opportunity to explore a wide variety of engineering topics ranging from robotics and coding to computer aided design (CAD) and medicine. The class typically concludes with a field trip to the Vanderbilt Institute for Surgery Engineering (VISE) where students can get first hand exposure to cutting edge medical research! St. Cecilia’s FIRST Robotics

MEDLAB Students, along with others from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, coach the FIRST Robotics Team at St. Cecilia Academy. Throughout the year, the students design and build a robot to play in an annual competition. Through the hands-on engineering experience, the students are able to develop their software, hardware, and management skills. The team has made it to the semifinals of the tournament each year and received awards for their innovative control!
