Summer Discovery Program

The LIVE Summer Discovery program is designed to help undergraduate and master’s students excel in learning technology innovation research projects over the summer.  The program will offer weekly technical skills seminars, professional development activities and research check-ins to help students build expertise and make meaningful progress on their research.

Summer 2025 Program

Program Dates: Monday, June 2 – Friday, August 1

Weekly Schedule: All programming will be in the LIVE space in the Sony building (1400 18th Ave S)

Skills Development Seminars
Weekly one-hour sessions designed to build both technical and professional skills. Workshops are led by graduate students and cover a range of topics, from educational technology tools (e.g., game engines, data analysis software) to communication and career development strategies.

Summer Connect Series
Casual gatherings that offer an opportunity to connect with fellow students, faculty, and members of the broader LIVE community in a relaxed setting. Light refreshments will be served.

Research Progress & Brainstorming Sessions 
Weekly lab-style meetings where participants share brief updates on their work and collaborate on challenges and ideas. These sessions foster accountability, peer feedback, and creative thinking.
