My project is focused on the development of immunological memory in adipose tissue with periods of weight cycling. I am particularly interested in the TNF family receptor ligand pair CD27/CD70 as previous research suggests that the CD27/CD70 axis is important in generating T-cell memory in models of infection. To investigate the role of CD27/CD70 in weight cycling, I am using a CD70 knockout mouse model and hypothesize that these animals will have decreased memory T cells in adipose tissue and improved metabolic outcomes as compared to their wild-type siblings.
