Shereen (Jing He)

Shereen (Jing He) is a Master's candidate in Innovative Design and Technology in Education at Peabody College, Vanderbilt University. Her studies focus on inclusive, culturally responsive design that helps every learner enjoy the process of learning.

She currently serves as a Research Assistant in the Barnes Lab, where she contributes to the AIM-K project, a study examining how attention skills can be woven into early mathematics instruction to support kindergarten learners. Her background in SPSS, early childhood intervention, and neurodiverse learner support informs her approach.

Shereen earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Arizona State University, graduated early with a 4.0 GPA, and contributed to two upcoming publications on mental health among racial minority youth during her undergraduate research assistantship. Over the past year, she has worked as a Registered Behavior Technician, applying behavior science and learning principles directly with clients. Her long-term goal is to bridge academic research with practical instructional design that serves diverse learners.

She is a native Mandarin speaker, fluent in English and Korean, with a deep interest in the cultures behind each language. Outside of research, enjoys journaling, dancing, bouldering, hiking, and dreaming about owning a dachshund.
