Sara is a Research Program Coordinator at Peabody, Vanderbilt University, where she coordinates the APPLS longitudinal study on children's language and reading development. She also currently contributes to the AIM-K kindergarten math intervention study in the Barnes Lab as a Research Assistant, implementing structured math sessions with early elementary students as part of an NSF-funded investigation into attention training and early math learning. Her prior research work has been in language and literacy development, including morphological awareness, translanguaging, and reading across digital and print contexts, as well as in pediatric quality improvement research.

Prior to her work in research, she taught English to both children and adults in Japan, South Korea, and Venezuela.
