Kathleen Emanuelli is a first-year Master’s in Public Policy in Education Policy candidate at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. She is focusing on K-12Education and hopes to focus on Early Childhood Education access and equality. As a Research Assistant for the Barnes Lab, Kathleen currently supports a multi-year study on the AIM-K project. In this role, she administers tutoring sessions to selected kindergarten students following the Whole Number Foundations curriculum, and administers pre and post-testing to students to assess their math and cognitive skills. She also supports data entry following the completion of tutoring and post-testing sessions.

Previously, Kathleen spent 3 years as a preschool teacher, which informs her commitment to evidence-based practice and educational equity. This experience has guided her interest in and passion for expanded access in ECE. She holds a B.A. in Politics and Education Studies from the Catholic University of America. Kathleen aims to leverage her research and coursework to inform policy change in the area of ECE.
