Zhou Lab

Originally from the vibrant city of New York, Mahima is currently an undergraduate student pursuing a double major in Molecular and Cellular Biology, as well as Medicine, Health, and Society (MHS) on a Pre-Med track. With a deep passion for science and a clear goal of becoming a doctor, Mahima is enthusiastic about contributing to the multidimensional research of this lab. She believes that this lab provides the ideal environment for her to develop her skills further and contribute meaningfully to the field. In the Zhou Lab, Mahima is currently working on optimizing the linker between the Delta Triangle and GFP. Her work involves systematically testing different constructs with shorter linker lengths to improve the fusion protein’s stability and functionality. By carefully evaluating these variations, she aims to achieve a more efficient and reliable linkage between the two components.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Mahima is a well-rounded individual with a variety of interests. She loves to travel and explore new cultures, which broadens her perspective and enriches her approach to research and medicine. Besides traveling, Mahima enjoys playing basketball, singing, and dancing, which are all part of her passions. She also loves spending her free time baking, finding a balance between creativity and precision in everything she does.
