Zhang’s lab focuses on designing and evaluating blockchain and distributed ledger-based architectures for addressing healthcare information technology gaps. This includes understanding and evaluating the implications of decentralized platforms’ applications in healthcare, analyzing the interoperability, scalability, privacy, and other issues that arise when interoperable data sharing systems are designed, and identifying best practices in the design of smart contracts and decentralized applications.
