Research Engineer & Coordinator –

This individual will contribute to a variety of multidisciplinary research projects at the intersection of human movement biomechanics and wearable assistive devices (exoskeletons, prostheses, smart clothing, wearables). They will spend part of their time assisting with human subject data collections, data analysis and engineering device development, and part of their time on project management and motion analysis lab management, including helping to oversee and maintain measurement instrumentation/equipment. Prior biomechanics and motion lab experience is desirable. This is a full-time staff position, not a student position or internship. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance. The expectation is for the successful candidate to remain for a minimum of 2 years.

We are looking for an engineering post-doc to join our team in the Center for Rehabilitation Engineering & Assistive Technology (CREATE) at Vanderbilt University (engineering.vanderbilt.edu/create), where we strive to enhance human capabilities and reduce physical disabilities in society through the development and testing of exoskeletons, exosuits, prostheses, smart clothing, and wearables. This post-doc will help lead multidisciplinary research and development projects at the intersection of movement biomechanics and human augmentation exosuits (soft, assistive exoskeletons).
