VICB 2021 Student Research Symposium
Aug. 14, 2021—Bailey Bowser and Katie Kapp participated in Vanderbilt University’s VICB 2021 Virtual Student Research Symposium on August 12. Bailey’s poster presentation titled “Quantitative Proteomics to Study Aging in Rabbits” received an award in the Chemical Synthesis section. Katie presented a poster titled “Plasma Proteomics to Study Disparities in Sepsis”
Kaitlyn Stepler Awarded Ph.D.
Jul. 25, 2021—On July 20, 2021, RASR Lab Ph.D. candidate Kaitlyn Stepler successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation titled “”Proteomics to Study Racial Disparities in Alzheimer’s Disease.” Kaitlyn will be joining the laboratory of Dr. Peter Nemes as a postdoc at the University of Maryland, College Park in September 2021.
Katie Kapp Advances to Ph.D. Candidate
Jul. 21, 2021—On July 15, 2021, Katie Kapp successfully passed her qualifying exam to become a Ph.D. candidate in chemistry. Katie joined RASR Lab in January 2019 and is currently using automated plasma proteomics to study racial disparities in sepsis.
