Our work in the laboratory is extremely important, however the work that we do outside of the laboratory is just as important.

NOBCChE

The mission of the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (nobcche.org) is to build an eminent cadre of people of color in science and technology. The Nashville NOBCChE Student and Professional chapter was started in 2018 and includes undergraduate and graduate students, high school students, postdoctoral fellows, research professors, faculty and other professionals from Vanderbilt University, Meharry Medical College, Tennessee State University, Fisk University, and other local universities.

As active members, we participate in regional and national conferences, host chapter meetings, provide professional and scientific development activities, and engage in community outreach activities for K through 12 students. We welcome interns, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting scientists to join our organization.
