African Student Union Hosts Black Girl Fest
The African Student Union (ASU) at Vanderbilt University hosted the Black Girl Fest (BGF) on January 20-22. The BGF is a celebration that pays homage to Black girl magic and excellence.
The BGF featured three events that included a Sleepover, Conference, and Networking Brunch.
Panelists included Dr. Candice Story Lee, Vice Chancellor for Athletics and University Affairs and Athletic Director, Taqiyyah Elliot, graduate student, Dr. Renã A.S. Robinson, Professor of Chemistry and Dorothy J. Wingfield Phillips Chancellor’s Faculty Fellow, Dr. Claudine Taaffe, Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of African American and Diaspora Studies, and Dr. Reanna Roby, Assistant Director of the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center.
RASR Lab attendees included Dr. Renã A.S. Robinson who served as a panelists, and graduate students Angel Bodrick and Nekesa Oliver.
