Shilo Anders, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology with secondary appointments in both Biomedical Informatics and Computer Science. Her research applies approaches from human factors engineering and human computer interaction to improve patient safety in healthcare. She researches system design, individual and team performance and decision making, and improvements in patient safety and care quality. Dr. Anders helps to make health information technology (HIT) more efficient, effective and be better integrated into the clinical workflow through user-centered design, workflow analysis, and cognitive task analysis. In addition, she works to design, develop, and evaluate patient-facing healthcare technologies. Dr Anders is interested in collaborating on medical device and technology interface design.
