Modern microscopy allows us to directly observe how a cell moves and organizes its architecture up to single molecule resolution. We apply cutting edge microscopy techniques to visualize cellular and molecular dynamics.
The major interest of the lab is to understand how internal cellular roadways – microtubules – define cell organization by delivery of signals and organelles. Microtubule organization is very diverse in specialized cell types. We are fascinated to study how microtubules regulate insulin secretion in pancreatic beta cells, invasion and motility of cancer and vascular cells, and polarization of epithelia sheets.
