Anissa Jayathilake
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Anissa is an undergraduate student who started working in the lab in 2022. She is majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society and Economics at Vanderbilt University. She is currently working on a project to determine whether ESCargo, a protein that can be used as a marker for the secretory pathway, is co-packaged with insulin vesicles in MIN6 cells in order to determine a mechanism for insulin vesicle sorting and secretion in β cells.
