Pietro Valdastri presented “Magnetic capsule robots for gastrointestinal endoscopy and abdominal surgery” at the PhD Course on Modular Surgical Robotics organized by the NEAR Lab in the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB), Politecnico di Milano, Italy.
Wireless Tissue Palpation presented at TRANSDUCERS 2013

May. 30, 2013—May 3, 2013. The abstract “Fine tilt tuning of a laparoscopic camera by local magnetic actuation: Two-Port Laparoscopic Nephrectomy Experience on Human Cadavers” by R. Pickens, M. Simi, A. Menciassi, S. D. Herrell, P. Valdastri has been nominated in the Top 10 Abstract at the Engineering and Urology Society 2013 Meeting, in Sand Diego, CA.

Apr. 12, 2013—STORM Lab is glad to announce a new partnership with Given Imaging Ltd, worldwide leader in wireless capsule endoscopy, for the study of enabling technologies for the next generation of gastrointestinal capsule endoscopes.

Mar. 22, 2013—Since the Wireless Tissue Palpation trial was a success, the STORM Lab group that traveled to Colorado for the experiment enjoyed one full day of skiing at Copper Mountain, CO. Levin Sliker, graduate student in Dr. Rentschler Lab (University of Colorado – Boulder), guided us on the slopes. An awesome day!
First in vivo trial for Wireless Tissue Palpation
