Users are expected to operate the instrument from their OWN account. Sharing accounts is NOT permitted. If you require an account, please fill out the “Account Request Form” located on the Small Molecule NMR Webpage and you will be added to the user list at the earliest convenience.  Users who repeatedly violate NMR policies are subject to have their NMR account temporarily and/or permanently suspended!!

NMR Reservations

When Facility spectrometers are NOT in automation mode, NMR time is reserved by accessing the Small Molecule NMR Homepage.  The web address is https://lab.vanderbilt.edu/smnmr  Times are separated into two categories: “Open” (green) and “Walk” (blue).  Open blocks can be reserved up to a week in advance while Walk blocks are limited for reservation to the specific day (i.e. walk on time for Tuesday CAN NOT be reserved any other day expect Tuesday).

AVIII-HD (MRB-IV)

This spectrometer is in automation mode 24/7 unless problems arise with the sample changer.  Users are permitted to submit as many samples as they want HOWEVER please be courteous of other users and place multiple samples in the night que if you DO NOT need the results immediately! These samples will be acquired immediately if there are no other samples submitted.

Sample Changer:
The “priority” is reserved for users working after hours (6pm-10pm) who require immediate results for 1 sample

The “priority” is NOT for the following:
multiple samples (more than 1)
any carbon or night que experiment

Please DO NOT use “short” or cutoff NMR tubes on ANY facility Sample Changer.  These tubes are accidents waiting to happen and will be confiscated and disposed if found on the sample changer.

AV-400

These samples will be acquired immediately if there are no other samples submitted.  PLEASE DO NOT USE CUT-OFF or BROKEN NMR TUBES ON THIS SAMPLE CHANGER!!!  Users who do not adhere to this policy are subject to have their NMR account suspended!!!

DRX-500

This spectrometer is in automation mode 24/7 unless problems arise with the sample changer.  There is the possibility that users from the Center for Structural Biology NMR Facility will access this instrument or users will acquire variable temperature (VT) experiments.  Under these scenarios the spectrometer will not be available in automation.  NMR Staff will let users know when either of these two possibilities happen.

AV-II-600
