Lily Doyle

Lily is a second-year doctoral student in Special Education.

Why did you choose Vanderbilt?

  • Vanderbilt was the right fit for me for a lot of reasons – the collaboration of a cohort model, the opportunity to have Dr. Lloyd as my mentor, and getting to tailor my course of study to merge my interests in trauma-informed work and behavioral interventions.

What is your favorite restaurant in Nashville?

  • If I could only eat tacos from Redheaded Stranger for the next 10 years of my life, I’d do it.

What professional goals do you have after completing the doctoral program?

  • I hope to be a professor and researcher at an R1 institution, and keep advocating for collaboration between professionals in the fields of mental health and special education.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

  • I really wanted to be a dog. Being a teacher was a close second.
