Kaverina Lab

Hamida Ahmed has worked as lab manager and research assistant II in the laboratory of Dr. Irina Kaverina since 2018. She earned her bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery, MBBS, from Zawia University, Libya, in 2007. She also obtained a Master of Science in Professional Science with a concentration in Biotechnology from Middle Tennessee State University in 2017. She has ten years of research experience and training in cell and vascular biology. She has expertise in handling mouse models for conducting diabetes research in the lab. Hamida is a mother to five children. She spends her free time walking, cooking, and hanging out. Her favorite Nashville food pick is Taziki’s Mediterranean Café!
