CROWD is a community of researchers and designers, working to tap into the power of collectives and to explore what groups can do together that their individual members cannot do on their own. This includes the groups that come together in classrooms, campuses, and other communities. We build technologies and design activities that help such groups recognize their power to learn together as collectives, and to envision and effect change in their environments.
We actively pursue formal and informal connections with research and community organizations that are interested in the power of collectives… Some of our projects are supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and other sources, but we often engage informally with partners to see if we can add value to their work, in advance of finding funding to formalize the connection and develop it more formally.
