Yuxia Jiao, PhD
Current position:Managing Editor of Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics. Beijing, China
Yuxia was a postdoc from 2004-2010. Her research focused on the role of densin and NMDA receptor NR2B subunits, CaMKAPs that interact with many other synaptic proteins, including actinin. She identified novel splice variants of densin that adopt different subcellular localizations and can induce distinct cell morphologies. In collaboration with Amy Lee’s lab, she showed that densin targeted CaMKII to facilitate Cav1.3 L-type calcium channels. She also identified a CaMKII inhibitory domain in densin that modulates CaMKII activity toward glutamate receptor subunits. She returned to China with her family and became Managing Editor of the Elsevier journal: “Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics”.
