Roger Colbran was born and educated in the UK, graduating with a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol, and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (conferred 1986). After postdoctoral training with Dr. Tom Soderling, he was appointed to the Faculty at Vanderbilt University in 1992. He has served on the Editorial Board and as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Biological Chemistry, and was an Established Investigator of the American Heart Association. He has a long-standing interest in Ca2+-dependent signaling and protein phosphorylation/dephosphorylation, as reflected by his publication record in Google Scholar. Research in the Colbran lab has been funded by grants from the NIH (NIMH, NINDS, NIGMS), American Heart Association and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
