In the CHILL lab, our goal is to improve pediatric healthcare for children and families of all needs, abilities, and diagnoses. In studying Children’s Healthcare, Illness, Legacy, and Loss, we focus on translating the experiences of hospitalized children, their parents/caregivers, siblings, and other family members into interventions and services that strengthen families, promote resilience, and facilitate growth and development. Whether we are working to understand the unmet service needs of families of children with medical complexity or highlighting the experiences and needs of bereaved families, our goal is for each study to enhance psychosocial care, and in doing so, make pediatric healthcare better.
