{"id":515,"date":"2016-03-05T12:31:51","date_gmt":"2016-03-05T17:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/my.vanderbilt.edu\/batlab\/?page_id=515"},"modified":"2026-05-07T18:01:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T18:01:05","slug":"lab","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lab.vanderbilt.edu\/zelik\/lab\/","title":{"rendered":"Lab"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n\r\n        <p>The Zelik Lab is part of Vanderbilt University&#8217;s Center for Rehabilitation Engineering &#038; Assistive Technology (CREATE)-a premier hub for human movement research and assistive technology innovation.<\/p>\r\n<p>CREATE houses a state-of-the-art 3,000 sq. ft. motion analysis laboratory for human subjects research, along with adjoining rehabilitation engineering labs supporting the research groups of Prof. Karl Zelik and Prof. Michael Goldfarb.<\/p>\r\n <!-- rich-text -->\r\n        <p><iframe src=\" https:\/\/momento360.com\/e\/u\/0f8c81397e214fbe9fff843a21d8deba?utm_campaign=embed&#038;utm_source=other&#038;heading=0&#038;pitch=0&#038;field-of-view=75 \"><\/iframe><\/p>\r\n <!-- rich-text -->\r\n          <h2>Human Movement Research Capabilities<\/h2>\r\n        <p>Our experimental facilities and equipment enable precise, high-fidelity measurement and analysis of human movement and performance, both inside and outside the lab.<\/p>\r\n<p>Key equipment includes:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Bertec split-belt instrumented treadmill<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n6 AMTI in-ground force plates\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n10-camera Vicon T40 motion capture system\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n12-camera OptiTrack motion capture system\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\nXsens portable motion capture\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n16+ channel Delsys Trigno wireless EMG system\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\nCosmed K4b2 portable respirometry system\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\nVarious pressure insole systems (Novel, Moticon, Noraxon, etc.)\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\nTelemed EchoBlaster 128 ultrasound system\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\nAn array of other portable sensors, rehabilitation devices, and custom testing rigs (stairs, ramps, treadmills, etc.)\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n <!-- rich-text -->\r\n          <h2>Computing &#038; Software<\/h2>\r\n        <p>Multiple desktop and laptop workstations support our data analysis and engineering workflows, equipped with MATLAB, SolidWorks, Creo Parametric, LabVIEW, Vicon Nexus, Visual3D, and other specialized biomechanics and modeling tools.<\/p>\r\n <!-- rich-text -->\r\n          <h2>Engineering Design &#038; Fabrication<\/h2>\r\n        <p>We maintain several electromechanical workstations with a full suite of hand and power tools for rapid prototyping and device development.
