Curriculum Vitae

Research Faculty and Postdocs

Bo Wang, Ph.D.

Assistant Research Professor

Bo Wang received his BE and ME degrees in chemical engineering from Tsinghua University and his PhD degree in biological design from Arizona State University. He was a staff scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory before he joined Vanderbilt University. Bo has extensive experience in metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, and systems biology of E. coli and photosynthetic microorganisms. His current research focuses on understanding and engineering the metabolism of photosynthetic microorganisms to optimize the biomanufacturing of sugars, amino acids, and triacylglycerol, among others. Bo’s research interest lies in utilizing systems and synthetic biology tools to study and engineer the cell metabolism to optimize the biomanufacturing of value-added products from renewable resources.
