Abel Diaz Gonzalez

Abel Diaz Gonzalez is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the Institute for Software Integrated Systems at Vanderbilt University. He earned his B.Sc. in Mathematics in 2012 from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Havana, Cuba. He then completed his Master’s and Doctorate in Mathematical Engineering at Carlos III University of Madrid in 2016 and 2020, respectively. Before joining Vanderbilt, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Mathematics at Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain, where he was a member of the Group of Applied Analysis (GAMA). During his studies, he was a visiting researcher at the University of La Laguna, Canary Islands, Spain, and the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, in 2016 and 2019. His research interests include developing machine learning techniques to maintain the reliability, safety, and efficiency of complex Cyber-Physical Systems.
