Lucius ‘Spoonman’ Talley is a native Nashvillian and a retired U.S. Postal Service letter carrier. He and his wife, Kathleen have been married for 28 years and have three children and three grandchildren. In addition to his talent with the spoons, Lucius also plays the drums and various woodwind instruments. He loves to skate and listen to all types of music. Lucius’ spoon-playing has led him to performances in a wide range of venues, both in the U.S. and internationally. (Taken from www.facebook.com/lucius.talley)

Talley’s spoon talent was inspired by his
boyhood friend Bobby Hebb, who was his bandmate at Pearl High school in
the 1950s. Hebb, whose claim to fame is that he penned the hit song
“Sunny,” played the spoons from an early age, using them and his
tap dancing skills to help support his parents. Even though Talley is a
masterful player of the drums, sax and clarinet, and played in bands at
various North Nashville nightclubs in the 1960s and 1970s, he says that the
spoons are his favorite instrument these days. (Taken from https://www.tennessean.com/story/life/shopping/ms-cheap/2016/05/06/mr-spoon-stirs-up-beat/79811304/)
