Dr. O&#8217;Brien then did his post-doctoral training in Dr. Daryl Granner&#8217;s laboratory at Vanderbilt University, initially as a Research Associate and then as a Research Instructor, before joining the faculty in the Department of Molecular Physiology &amp; Biophysics in 1995 where he now holds the rank of professor.<\/p>\n <!-- rich-text -->\n        <p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/richard-obrien-lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/53\/2026\/06\/616068_10151088400125547_2052890351_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1365\" height=\"1365\" \/>Ken Oeser has been Dr. O&#8217;Brien&#8217;s Research Technician since 1999! Prior to working with Richard, Ken worked with a Paint and Adhesive company.<\/p>\n <!-- rich-text -->\n        <p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/richard-obrien-lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/53\/2026\/06\/IMG-20211205-WA0006-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1528\" height=\"1600\" \/>Emily Hawes (Overway) joined the lab in 2020 from Vanderbilt&#8217;s IGP program.
