Jasmin\u2019s research focuses on using quantitative proteomics to study disease-specific proteins to better understand racial disparities in Alzheimer\u2019s disease. Before joining Vanderbilt, Jasmin received a bachelor\u2019s degree in chemistry from Queens University of Charlotte, North Carolina. She then attended the Fisk-Vanderbilt Master\u2019s-to-PhD Bridge program, earning a master\u2019s degree in chemistry.<\/p>\n<p>In her free time, Jasmin enjoys kayaking and spending time with her family and friends. Jasmin has a deep connection to her research. In the third grade, when asked about her career aspirations, she wrote, \u201cI want to help people like my grandmother.\u201d At the time, Jasmin had no idea what that might involve. Fast forward to today, she is conducting research in Alzheimer\u2019s disease with cohorts that are inclusive of African American and Black individuals like her grandmother. Historically underserved populations in the United States are disproportionally impacted by Alzheimer\u2019s disease.
