Raven Powell is currently a second-year graduate student in the Education Policy program at Peabody College. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Raven attended the University of Georgia and received a B.S. in Human Development and Family Science. After leaving UGA, Raven became a College and Career Adviser through the College Advising Corps at Georgia State University. Raven’s passion for creating equity within schooling for students of color led her to pursue an Education Policy degree from Vanderbilt University. Upon graduation, Raven hopes to work in a capacity that bridges the gaps between community organizations and public schools to meet the needs of the families they serve.
Raven will be working in outreach, recruitment, and engagement efforts, and with STEM outreach projects that are taking place within RASR Laboratory and the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer’s Center.
