Katie Kapp

PhD Candidate


Kathryn (Katie) Kapp is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Chemistry at Vanderbilt University. She graduated summa cum laude from Gannon University in Erie, PA in May 2017 with a BS in Chemistry. Katie joined RASR Laboratory in January 2019 as a chemistry graduate student. Her current research project focuses on using semi-automated plasma proteomics to study disparities in sepsis. Katie is a recipient of the Vanderbilt Chemistry-Biology Interface (V-CBI) T-32 training grant and a US HUPO 2022 travel award. She also won the First Year Chemistry Graduate Student Three Minute Thesis Competition. In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, sewing, watching The Office, hiking, and traveling.
