Dr. Katarena Ford graduated from Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama in May 2013 majoring in Forensic Chemistry. She completed her Ph.D. in Bio-Analytical Chemistry at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama in September 2018. Katarena joined the RASR Team in 2018 and is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar focusing on the characterization of S-Nitrosylated proteins in aging and rabbit models using oxidized cysteine-selective cPILOT. She also is developing an automated multiplexing platform to quantitatively measure SNO protein expression in animal tissues. In January 2019, Katarena received a research supplement from NIH that is used to promote diversity in health-related research.
