Research
The current focus of the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory (RASL) is to design and develop novel robotic and virtual reality systems for human-robot and human-computer interactions. The application areas for this research are in Autism, Schizophrenia and Dementia interventions although the overall goal is to improve our understanding in broad areas of human-robot and human-computer interactions. A large part of what we do involves signal processing and pattern recognition of biological signals such as heart rate, brain wave, eye gaze etc., designing new machine learning and control algorithms, system design and implementation, and experimental validation with actual patients. We also perform basic research in dynamics, control and mechatronics.
