Will grew up in Maryland and earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He went on to complete an M.S. at the University of Maine, where he studied the spatiotemporal regulation of G-protein coupled receptors with Prof. Joshua Kelley. He then pursued a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, investigating the biosynthesis and mode of action of antimicrobial natural products under Prof. Bo Li. Now in Prof. Doug Mitchell’s lab, Will is exploring the therapeutic potential of peptide-based compounds. In his free time, Will can be found kayaking, hiking, or playing volleyball.
