Sharon grew up in San Francisco, CA, and got her B.S. in Chemistry from UC San Diego. Her undergraduate research involved optimizing a whole cell biocatalysis method. In the Mitchell lab, Sharon works on engineering RiPP macrocyclic enzymes. In her free time she enjoys reading, playing guitar, and listening to Taylor Swift music.
