
Riley Carter

B.S. Biology – Southern Utah University
Riley was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and grew up near Payson, Utah. He attended Southern Utah University and studied an aldehyde oxidoreductase enzyme with Elizabeth Pierce. After graduating with his B.S. in Biology, Riley worked at the University of Michigan before attending the University of Illinois. Here, in the Mitchell Lab, Riley works on discovering novel RiPPs. Outside the lab, Riley’s main hobby is to explore new hobbies to the chagrin of his patient wife.
