Awardees receive dedicated development time from LIVE\u2019s Research Engineer or Computer Science Post-Doc to help them turn their new learning technology ideas into reality. The 3 winners were selected based on the novelty, impact, feasibility, and sustainability of their proposed tools.<\/p>\n
Dr. Vishesh Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning, for his project to train gesture recognition for the NetsBlox programming environment using PhoneIoT accelerometer \/ gyroscope data.<\/p>\n
Zachary Karas and Zihan Fang, PhD students in Computer Science for their project working towards an eye-tracking system to reflect students\u2019 real-time learning challenges.<\/p>\n
Dr. Akos Ledeczi, Professor of Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering to conduct a feasibility study on the use of large language models to assess the function of, problems with, and new possibilities for code in block-based visual programming<\/p>\n
