Mahrukh Tauseef is pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Vanderbilt University. She completed her B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi in 2020 and joined the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Lab under Dr. Nilanjan Sarkar in 2021. Her research focuses on designing collaborative virtual environments, augmented reality-based telepresence, and applications of large language models. Mahrukh applies an iterative participatory design approach to ensure user inclusion, working with older adults, people living with dementia, and the autistic population. Recently, she ventured into social entrepreneurship to extend her designs beyond the lab through sustainable frameworks.
