Will Hedgecock is a Research Scientist at the Institute for Software Integrated Systems and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. His traditional research interests include wireless sensor networks, embedded devices, precision localization algorithms, and edge computing; however a lifelong love of music and a recent foray into the development of educational technologies led to a newfound interest in finding innovative ways to teach Computer Science using people’s existing interests, passions, and motivations. Dr. Hedgecock also spent six years working in industry as the Director of Engineering for a tech startup aimed at commercializing automated gunshot locator and security technologies; as such, he has a strong passion for building practical technologies with a clear path from academia to the real world.
