KyuOk Jeon (Drug Discovery Scientist, Senior) earned a MS Chemistry degree in January 2004 from Graduate School of Kangwon National University, South Korea. In 2007 she entered the PhD program at the University of Kansas where she completed her PhD under the direction of Professor Paul Hanson pursuing the development of new methodologies for sultam compounds as well as generation of sultam libraries as a part of KU-CMLD, NIH Center of Excellence in Chemical Methods and Library Development. After earning her PhD degree, she moved to the University of Pittsburgh in Professor Peter Wipf’s laboratory as a postdoctoral fellow and worked on the preparation of analogs of the alkaloid meloscine. In 2014 she joined to Professor Steve Fesik’s lab at Vanderbilt University as a medicinal chemist where she made contribution to the development of Mcl-1 and WDR5 inhibitors. In 2020 KyuOk joined MDSC as a Drug Discovery Scientist, and in 2025, she joined the team with the Warren Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery as a Senior Drug Discovery Scientist.
