Join us on April 30th from 12:00–1:00 PM in Buttrick 344 for a Lifespan Lab seminar featuring practice presentations ahead of the upcoming Population Association of America (PAA) Conference. This session offers an opportunity to engage with current research, hear works-in-progress, and support presenters as they refine their talks. Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees. MARCH 2026
We hosted a hands-on methods workshop with Dr. Emanuela Struffolino (University of Milan; President, Sequence Analysis Association), whose research explores labor markets, poverty, gender inequality, and social stratification using longitudinal methods. The session introduced sequence analysis, including its theoretical foundations, key tools, and practical applications, and highlighted how it can be used to study life course trajectories and uncover the accumulation of social and economic disadvantage over time.
DECEMBER 2025
This seminar was scheduled to examine how poverty and health are linked across different national contexts, using comparative data to show how social and policy environments shape population health. The event was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.
NOVEMBER 2025
The HEAL Lifespan Seminar featured student and trainee members of the HEAL Project who shared findings from ongoing qualitative and quantitative work on disparities in end-of-life planning and death quality.
SEPTEMBER 2025
On September 16, PAA members gathered for a productive Writing Drop-in session. This event served as a dedicated communal space for staff to carve out focused time for their current projects.
