Susanne Prokop

International Fellow, Pharmacology

Susanne was a medical student at Semmelweis University in Hungary. She worked in a molecular endocrinology laboratory in her home country, where she investigates the functional role of GPCR dimerization, using bioinformatics and  experimental methods.

Susanne was working in the lab during the summer of 2015, as a participant of the  Vanderbilt Short-Term Fellowship Program.

Research Description

Susanne was investigating the behaviour of different non-visual arrestin mutants with altered receptor specificity. The manipulation of the receptor-binding concave side can lead to the selective disruption or enhancement of  individual arrestin-receptor interactions. She was testing the binding of several arrestin mutants to different GPCRs by in-cell BRET.
