Regina is originally from Indiana. She is on the executive board for the association of biology students. Among other things, Regina enjoys playing piano and cooking.

Upon graduation Regina did a one-year post-bac at NIH. Currently she entered medical school at the University of Indiana

Research Description

Regina is a sophomore, majoring in molecular and cellular biology. She is volunteering several hours per week to get research experience. Under supervision of Seva Gurevich and Sergey Vishnivetskiy she is constructing cysteine-free versions of enhanced bovine visual arrestin-1 for use in crystallography and EPR to elucidate the mechanisms of arrestin activation by receptors. She will continue by first functionally testing numerous mutants she makes with Sergey, and then by using them in biophysical and biochemical studies.
